“Make-A-Wish to Save-A-Witch” Signed Poster Giveaway

As many of you know, our appeal to MTV Networks is through our charity campaign “Make-A-Wish to Save-A-Witch.” 100% of the money donated on behalf of MTV Networks will go to Make-A-Wish International. When we started the campaign, we had no donation goal in mind, but since then (and with how quickly we raised almost $2,000) we’ve decided to set one.

One of our campaign runners won a Secret Circle poster from a @SecretCircleTV competition. She is putting that poster (signed by Britt Robertson, Thomas Dekker, Phoebe Tonkin, Shelley Hennig, and Jessica Parker Kennedy) up as a giveaway item if the donations for “Make-A-Wish to Save-A-Witch” can total over $4,000 by THIS THURSDAY at 9 pm ET. We’ve included a picture of the poster and campaign staff member (Abbey) holding the poster below for proof of its existence. We raised over $1,800 in two days. Think we can raise that much in four?

Giveaway Rules & Guidelines

Only donations received between TODAY (Sunday, May 20th) at 5 pm ET and Thursday, May 24th at 9 pm ET will be entered.
To be officially entered in the giveaway, you MUST forward confirmation of your donation to our fundraising campaign to savethecircle@gmail.com
You CAN receive multiple entries. HOWEVER, to qualify for more than one entry, you must donate AT LEAST $10. So every donation up to $10 counts as one entry, and for every $10 you donate thereafter you will receive an entry.
If we reach $4,000 we will enter every email we’ve received into a drawing and one person will be selected to win the signed poster.
We will contact that winner through email and then announce them on our site, twitter, and tumblr at 10 pm ET this upcoming Thursday

We’ve been contacted by a couple of people who have brought to light an issue we are having with the campaign. We were made aware that fans may be hesitant to donate because they believe the money is going directly to the campaign. We’ve tried to make it as clear as possible, but we are willing to go the extra mile to convince fans on the bubble about donating if it means more money for an amazing cause (and attention from MTV about a possible pick-up).

The first thing we want to tell you more about is the charity itself. We’ve included the charity’s description found on the fundraising website below for you. You can also see the charity profile (with its EIN/Tax ID number) by clicking here.

The mission of Make-A-Wish Foundation International is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1980, when a group of caring volunteers helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is one of the world’s leading children’s charities. After the start of the Foundation in the United States, interest in granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions quickly spread to other nations. In 1993, Make-A-Wish Foundation® International was officially formed to serve the five countries outside the U.S. – and now helps to serve children outside the United States in 47 countries on five continents through its 36 affiliates. Funds donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation International or any of its affiliates solely benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation International or its affiliates and the children we serve outside of the United States and its territories.

The next thing we want to do is clear up how the money gets to the charity. Our fundraising website is NO PAYPAL. The site has its own transaction system and actually charges you a small fee for using it–which we’ve kindly asked fans to pay so their entire donation goes directly to Make-A-Wish International. After you donate, please give it 24 hours for the payment to appear on your statement. You can then check it to confirm that the money did in fact go directly to Make-A-Wish International.

If after we’ve explained that you still don’t feel comfortable donating to our fundraising page, please donate DIRECTLY through the Make-A-Wish International website. Donation instructions can be found here. We ask that you read the directions over carefully so that we can count your donation towards our appeal to MTV on our fundraising page.

Still not convinced? Please contact Greg Boone, Donor Care Manager for Make-A-Wish International, at gboone@worldwish.org or at 1-602-385-6856. He can confirm that our donations are going directly to Make-A-Wish International. .
